HTC has been releasing a lot of updates lately. Last February 25 2011, HTC just released the Android 2.2 update for your very own HTC Aria.
To install the update, you need to download the 156 MB exe file located at the download section of Aria.
To be able to install it, you need the latest version of HTC Sync before anything else. Make sure that all the important contacts, messages and files are backed up since the update will wipe out your device.
If you’re excited to see what’s new with the Android 2.2, here’s a glimpse of some:
Navigation- This makes use of Google Maps navigation.
Latitude- This is a service from Google where you can find your friend’s location. Just be careful to not stalk your friend okay?
Places- You can use a Google service if you want to look for coffee shops, hotels, ATMs, restaurants, gas stations, offices and a lot of other location
Wi-Fi Hotspot and USB Tethering- The Aria can let you be a mobile hotspot for a maximum of 8 devices. You can also connect a PC with the use of data connection.

The HTC Desire HD will feature a larger screen than its sibling
The HTC Desire HD specs have been leaked on the internet, suggesting it’ll have a better screen and improved camera.
Slashgear has revealed that the monster will feature a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen and 8-megapixel camera, but will keep the same 1GHz Snapdragon processor as seen on the original Desire.
Other features include:

* 720p HD video recording
* Xvid playback
* SRS surround sound
* Flash 10
* Face recognition
* 4GB internal storage
The HTC Desire HD’s release date has surfaced as Q4 2010.
We’ve always dreamed that the HTC HD 2 was powered by Android – and now it can be!
The HTC HD 2, which we’ve always wished was an Android device, is easily one of the best looking devices on the market – and now it just got a whole load better.
The HTC HD 2 has now had both Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 ported on it, which is probably the best news we’ve heard all week!
Apparently, there are still a few niggles here and there, but the port has been successful and even brings HTC’s Sense UI into the device as well.

Android 2.2 for HTC Desire, Legend and Wildfire
HTC has confirmed that its Desire, Legend and Wildfire handsets will be getting the Android 2.2 treatment – and before September, too
HTC has confirmed that it is working on integrating Android 2.2 in several of its smartphones before the end of Q3 2010, which is September to you and me.
The Desire has already been confirmed as a dead-cert to get the Android 2.2 update, but HTC also confirmed that the HTC Legend and Wildfire will also get the highly coveted upgrade as well.
Recombu spoke to HTC and has them quoted as saying the following:
“We are working hard with our partners to update the HTC Sense experience on Froyo and distribute it to our customers as fast as possible. We expect to release updates for several of our 2010 models including Desire, Legend and Wildfire beginning in Q3 “
Wonder whether the newly updated HTC Hero will be included in the HTC’s Android 2.2 upgrade list?
