Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) will soon be Released on the HTC Desire Family
Heads up HTC lovers, the company will be introducing the new Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update to the HTC Desire right after the HTC Desire S picks up sales.
CNET says that they talked with an HTC rep at Mobile World Congress and the Rep told them that Android 2.3 will be implemented on HTC Desire, HTC Desire Z and HTC Desire HD within 1 to 2 months after the debut of the HTC Desire S; probably around the second quarter of 2011.
The update will be around June to August.
The Android 2.3 update will be delayed on the HTC Desire because the updates on HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z will come in first.
Although this is good news when it comes to the Desire family, there were no words regarding the T-Mobile G2.
HTC Desire S will be launched at April 18th. The Android 2.3 update may come sooner than expected.
